Condition-based maintenance for a national equipment fleet
The challenge
A large federal government organisation sustains thousands of specialised vehicles and platforms, supported by tens of thousands of assets nationwide. Servicing was scheduled at fixed intervals regardless of how each asset was actually used, and the usage, health and maintenance data that could change that sat fragmented across disconnected systems.
What we did
We integrated usage, health and maintenance data into a governed analytics platform, then built the dashboards and custom cloud-native applications engineers use to plan servicing on evidence. Our team embedded alongside the customer's engineering and maintenance staff, iterating on the analytics with the people who act on them.
The outcome
Maintenance decisions grounded in how assets are actually used, supporting safely extended servicing intervals where the evidence allows and targeting effort where it is needed. On one fleet, servicing on evidence rather than fixed intervals roughly halved scheduled servicing demand and cut maintenance effort by around 40%, with condition-based maintenance now spanning several thousand vehicles. Less unnecessary maintenance, better availability, and an analytics capability the organisation continues to run and grow.
